Postnuptial Agreements

Postnuptial agreements ("postnup") are similar to prenuptial agreements; however, a postnup is entered into after marriage.  A prenup is entered into before marriage.  With this distinction, these two types of agreements have a distinct difference aside from when spouses enter into them.

In a prenup, parties are free to agree as to alimony.  In a postnup, parties are not permitted to mention alimony in the agreement, else the agreement might well be void.

If you are contemplating a postnup, Peter can assist you.  Peter has the experience to advise and make the process go smoothly.
